All programs are FREE of charge. Unless otherwise specified, programs take place at the Salida Library, on the corner of 4th & E Streets, in Salida, Colorado.

May Events & Programs

Friday, May 18 at 3:30 p.m. – Author reading and book signing for ‘Splash: I love being a raindrop!’ Authors Rebecca Kidd and JulieBelle Ash will be at the library to read from their children’s book.


   Monday & Tuesday, May 21 & 22 at 4 p.m. – Open Chess! 5th graders up to adults are welcome at the library for some chess action.


Tuesday, May 29th – SUMMER READING BEGINS! Kids aged 2 to those just completing 6th grade can read for prizes and fun! Program ends July 26th with a Rock ‘n’ Roll Dance Party at ‘A Church’ on the corner of 4th and D Streets.

Teen Summer Reading BINGO begins May 29th and ends August 3rd. Kids going into 7th grade up to 12th grade can read for prizes and fun!

Thursday, June 7 at 10 a.m. – Bubble Soccer for 5th through 8th graders! Registration starts May 21st and consent waivers must be signed to participate. Meet us at Alpine Park at 10 a.m.


Friday, June 8 from 10 to 11:30 – Library in the Park! Kids aged 2 to 10 years old can meet us out at Alpine Park for fun crafts and reading stories.

Ask a Tech – Offers library patrons an opportunity to ask basic questions about their computer, mobile phone, or tablet. NOT for computer repair of configuration! If you have a question about how to add email accounts, use Word or Excel, get Internet access, or download documents this is the program for you! Contact Kristin or Drew at 539-4826 to make an appointment. Please leave your name and number and what your question is when making your appointment.
