Tax Forms:

Federal and Colorado State income tax forms are available in the library entryway January through April. We display them as soon as they arrive. After that time, inquire at the desk.  We have a book of reproducible tax forms, a CD-ROM, and access to the IRS web site from which we can print copies (at 10 cents per page) of other tax forms and instructions.

Social security:

A representative of the Social Security Administration visits the Salida Regional Library two days every other month (odd-numbered months). She can answer questions about Social Security payments and retirement benefits, replace lost cards, and issue new cards. Do bring the proper documentation. Please note: she cannot be reached via the library telephone. You may call the Canon City office with questions at (719) 275-7848.

The second Tuesday and the following Wednesday of alternate months is reserved for walk-in customers on a first come, first served basis. The representative is here on Tuesday from 9 am - 4 pm, with an hour away for lunch, usually 12 noon - 1 pm. Wednesday's hours are from 9 am - noon. The meeting room will be open prior to 10 am if you wish to arrive early, and the representative usually puts out a sign-up list when he arrives.

Literacy program:

Do you know someone who would like to learn to read? Would you like to volunteer to help others learn to read? Please speak with the Library Director (all requests are confidential).

Library volunteer program:

If you would like to volunteer as a library aide, please speak with the Library Director.

Photocopier:

The copy machine is located across from the circulation desk on the main floor. It can enlarge and reduce, do double-sided copies, and produce copies on letter, legal and ledger (11" x 14") sized paper. Copies are 10 cents per side for letter or legal, and 20 cents per side for ledger. Please ask if you need assistance. We do not have a public FAX machine.

Magnifying reader:

We have a magnifying reader available for public use upstairs, in the far right corner of the adult room. It is suitable for books and magazines and must be used in the library. Please ask if you need assistance. Simple magnifying lenses are available at the circulation desk for use in the library.
